Oral Cancer Screenings
Oral cancer screenings are a very important part of the dental examination process for each patient. With a thorough evaluation, we are often able to recognize the start of a potential problem much earlier in its evolution. The ability to do so is extremely important in being able to treat any issues prior to them becoming a major irreversible problem.
Certain lifestyle choices can have a great impact on the health of your mouth AND body. Tobacco and alcohol use are key contributors to oral diseases. We make sure everyone, no matter your risk, receives a complete oral cancer screening.
Deep Cleaning (Scaling and Root Planing)
Plaque and tartar that accumulate above and below the gum line. It's a fact of life. Sometimes the build up is so great or has accumulated for so long that we need to clean and smooth the teeth and root areas with special instruments to ensure thorough bacteria removal. If this area is not kept clean the entire area can become irritated with the bacteria that resides in the tartar and plaque. It's very important to have your dentist check this area if you have bleeding during brushing.
